Abd al-Hamid ibn Abdullah al-Alusi

Abdul Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Alusi is an Iraqi Ottoman Sufi and poet from the nineteenth century AD / thirteenth century AH. From the Alusian dynasty in Baghdad. He contracted smallpox in the first year of his life and became blind. He read the Qur’an and studied the language under his father, then he accompanied his brother Abu al-Thana’ al-Alusi until he took his leave in 1849. He began preaching and teaching, so he learned and people came to his preaching sessions, and he dictated “Nathar al-Laali fi Sharh Nazm al-Amali.” He tended toward Sufism and followed the Qadiriyya, Naqshbandi, and Rifa'i orders from a young age, and he gained followers and disciples. He remained isolated in his home for forty years, only leaving for Friday and Eid prayers. Organized by a collection in a collection of poems. He died in his hometown and in the Al-Junaid cemetery in Karkh.
