Their story
Abdul Rahman Hamoud Al-Sumait is a Kuwaiti preacher and founder of the Direct Aid Society - formerly the African Muslims Committee - and Chairman of its Board of Directors. He assumed the position of Secretary-General of the African Muslims Committee in 1981 and continued to head the Society until after its name was changed to the Direct Aid Society in 1999. He is the Chairman of the Council for Islamic Research and Studies. He also published four books; Here is Africa, A Tear for Africa, A Letter to My Son, Arabs and Muslims in Madagascar, in addition to many research and working papers and hundreds of articles published in various newspapers.
