Albert Vanhoye, born July 24, 1923 in Hazebrouck in the North in France and died July 29, 2021 in Rome, is a French Jesuit priest, exegete and professor of Holy Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, of which he was rector from 1984 to 1990. Particularly known for his studies on the Epistle to the Hebrews, the priesthood of Christ and Semitic rhetoric, he was created cardinal on March 24, 2006 by Benedict XVI.
