Augustus Owsley Stanley, born May 21, 1867 in Shelbyville, Kentucky, died August 12, 1958 in Washington, D.C., was an American Democratic politician. He was governor of the state of Kentucky in 1915–1919. He represented Kentucky in both houses of the United States Congress, first in the House of Representatives from 1903–1915 and then in the Senate from 1919–1925.
