As an architect, Bruno Paul was a pioneer of modern architecture in Germany, as well as a caricaturist, furniture designer and interior decorator. He worked as a university lecturer for many years and influenced important artists such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Adolf Meyer, George Grosz and Hannah Höch.
