Their story
Claude Collard is a French engineer, fan of many sports and high-level judoka - 7th dan black belt in judo and vice-European champion in 1959 - who then became a sports leader - president of the French Judo Federation from 1961 to 1966 - and helped to structure French sport, after his arrival at the head of the French Olympic Committee (1968-1973). He was the founder, in 1972, of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), which he chaired until 1982.
