David Grandison Fairchild, born April 7, 1869 in Lansing, Michigan, USA, died August 6, 1954 in Coconut Grove, Miami, was an American botanist and mycologist. He was behind the introduction of over 200,000 exotic plants and crop varieties to the United States, which included soybeans, mangoes, nectarines, pistachios, bamboo, dates, and ornamental cherries, among others.
