Their story
Doroteo Guamuch Flores - also known as Mateo Flores - was a Guatemalan athlete, winner of the Boston Marathon in 1952. The Guatemalan Revolution Stadium, located in zone 5 in the Sports City of Guatemala City, was baptized as the Doroteo Guamuch Flores National Stadium for his achievement obtained in the United States. He also participated in the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games in Finland, where he finished twenty-second in the marathon.
