Their story
Robert Emil Eichhorn was a German politician, member of the Reichstag and journalist. During the November Revolution he was appointed police chief of Berlin on November 9, 1918. On January 4, 1919, he was deposed for supporting mutinous soldiers. This and Eichhorn's refusal to resign his office led to mass demonstrations a day later and culminated in the January uprising. During the Weimar Republic he was a KPD representative in the German Reichstag.
