Evgeny Oskarovich Paton is a Soviet mechanical scientist and engineer who worked in the field of welding, bridge engineering and structural mechanics. Head of the Institute of Electric Welding, which bears his name since 1953. Hero of Socialist Labor (1943), laureate of the Stalin Prize.
