Their story
Friedrich Wille was a German mathematician and professor (C4) at the University of Kassel. In addition to his work as a professor and as an author of specialist literature and entertaining literature for mathematically interested readers, he is also known as the author and composer of the Main Theorem Cantata, a setting of the main theorem of differential and integral calculus. His work “Galerkin's solution approximations for monotone images”, which was written entirely in poem form, also gained a certain level of fame.
