Their story
Georg “Schorsch” Volkert was a German football player. The winger played a total of 410 league games in the Bundesliga from 1965 to 1981 with the clubs 1. FC Nürnberg, Hamburger SV and VfB Stuttgart and scored 125 goals. With Nuremberg he won the German championship in 1968, with Hamburg the DFB Cup in 1976 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1977. In his two years at FC Zurich he won the Swiss Cup in 1970. The two-footed winger played 12 times for the national team from 1968 to 1977, although he was not used from May 10, 1969 to June 5, 1977.
