Their story
Gerda Wegener, registered at birth as Gerda Marie Fredrikke Gottlieb, was a Danish erotic painter, illustrator and illustrator. Wegener is known for her fashion illustrations and later for her paintings that challenged the boundaries of her time regarding gender and love. These works were sometimes classified as lesbian erotica and many were inspired by her partner, trans woman Lili Elbe. Wegener made in these works the styles of Art Nouveau and, later, Art Deco.
