Their story
Giovanni Spadolini was an Italian journalist, historian and politician of the left-liberal Partito Repubblicano Italiano (PRI), which he led as national secretary from 1979 to 1987. Between 1974 and 1987 he served in various government positions, from June 1981 to December 1982 as Prime Minister of Italy. From 1987 to 1994 Spadolini was President of the Italian Senate.
