Their story
Harry Davenport was an American actor whose career in the profession spanned 78 years. He appeared in around 165 films and almost 40 Broadway plays and was one of the co-founders of an important actors' union. In his old age he celebrated considerable success in Hollywood, for example as Dr. Meade in Gone with the Wind (1939). After his death, Bette Davis praised him as the “greatest character actor of all time.”
