Their story
Hosni al-Zaim, President of the First Syrian Republic, through the coup of March 1949, before he was overthrown by the coup of August 1949, so that his rule was approximately four months between March 30 and August 14, 1949. Despite the short period of time during which al-Zaim assumed power, it left a “distinctive mark” in the modern history of Syria, especially in terms of being the beginning of twenty coups and coup attempts, the last of which was the 1970 coup (Syria).
