Their story
Jørgen Skafte Rasmussen was a Danish engineer and industrialist who worked in Germany for large parts of his life. In 1912 he founded the Zschopauer Maschinenfabrik J. S. Rasmussen, which, renamed Zschopauer Motorenwerke J. S. Rasmussen in 1923, developed into the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world with its DKW brand. His achievements in automobile construction are the spread of the two-stroke engine and front-wheel drive on an industrial scale.
