Their story
Jake Hanna was an American jazz drummer. He studied music at the Berklee School of Music and played in Tommy Reed's band in the late 1940s. In 1957 he joined the Japanese pianist Toshiko Akiyoshi. During his career, he also collaborated with other musicians, including Carl Fontana, Marian McPartland, Herb Ellis, Woody Herman and Kai Winding. He died of a blood disease at the age of seventy-eight.
