James Beck, born February 21, 1929 in Islington, North London, died August 6, 1973 in Roehampton, London, was a British actor, best known for playing the "fixer" Joe Walker in the British comedy series The Gunslingers from its inception in 1968 until his death. He died of acute pancreatitis aged 44. His character was then written out of the Gunpowder TV series, while in the radio series of the same name it was taken over first by Graham Stark and then by Larry Martyn.
