Ján Stanislav was a Slovak linguist, Slavologist and university professor. Today's Ján Stanislav Institute of Slavic Studies of the Slovak Academy of Sciences bears his name. In his scientific career, he focused mainly on the activities of Cyril and Methodius in Great Moravia.
