Jan Żabiński was a famous Polish zoologist, zootechnician and physiologist, a pupil of Jan Sosnowski. He was the co-founder and second director of the Warsaw Zoological Garden (1928/1929–1951) and chief administrator of the city's public parks in Warsaw.
