Joachim Jauer was a German radio and television journalist, documentary filmmaker, university lecturer and writer. He became known to a broad public in particular through his work as a television correspondent and head of the ZDF office in the German Democratic Republic and as a chronicler of the revolutionary upheaval in the former Warsaw Pact. Jauer lived in Kirchberg im Wald.
