Their story
José Plácido de Castro was an idealistic Brazilian politician and military man. In 1903, he led the third Acre Revolution and governed the Republic of Acre until the signing of the Treaty of Petrópolis, which made Brazil's rule over the territory official. After that, he was governor and mayor of the region.
