Their story
Dame Julia Margaret Polak, DBE, FMedSci was an Argentinian-born British pathologist. He was head of the Center for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at Imperial College London. He founded a medical research center with Larry Hench, also from Imperial College, to develop cells and tissues for transplantation into humans.
