Karol Maciej Szymanowski was a Polish music composer and pedagogue, a member of the Young Poland movement. His style, which often moves on the border of tonality, is usually associated with the music of the end of the 19th century, with the so-called musical impressionism, but also with the music of neo-folklorism, or with the works of the authors of the first musical avant-garde.
