Their story
Kurt Luedtke was an American screenwriter and executive editor of the Detroit Free Press. He wrote Out of Africa (1985), for which he won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay. He also wrote Absence of Malice (1981), for which he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, as well as Random Hearts (1999). All three films were directed by Sydney Pollack.
