Ludvík Tošner

Ludvík Tošner was a Czech high school professor, writer and translator. He taught at the Guild Business School and briefly at the Czechoslovak Business Academy. In 1901, he caused a scandal by the unauthorized use of the academic and noble title "PhDr. Ludvík Silvan Tošner de Simon"; however, he was not convicted because his actions did not cause damage. He participated in the activities of the Social Democratic Party with literary contributions, organizing professional lectures and (unsuccessful) candidacies in the elections. He translated several travelogues by Sven Hedin, notes by R.F. Scott and, together with Theodore Šmeral, the first volume of Marx's Capital.
