Ma Mingfang

Ma Mingfang (December 14, 1905 - August 12, 1974), formerly known as Ma Ruzhou and nicknamed Jimin, male, was born in Mizhi, Shaanxi Province, and a political figure in the People's Republic of China. He joined the Communist Party of China in the autumn of 1925; he was one of the founders and main leaders of the Northern Shaanxi Revolutionary Base during the Red Army period. He was an alternate member of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and a member of the Eighth Central Committee. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the first Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government; he also served as Deputy Secretary-General of the CPC Central Committee, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department, and Minister of Finance and Trade, Third Secretary of the Northeast Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the First and Second National People's Congress.
