Their story
Manfred Hermann Wörner was a German politician (CDU). He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1988, where he was chairman of the Defense Committee from 1976 to 1980. From 1982 to 1988 he was Federal Minister of Defense under Chancellor Helmut Kohl. From 1988 to 1994 he was the only German NATO Secretary General and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council.
