Their story
May Skaf is a Syrian actress. Born in Damascus, she studied French literature at Damascus University and participated in many theatrical, television and cinematic roles. It was known for its support of the Syrian revolution since its beginning in 2011 and its rejection of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. She died in Paris after suffering a heart attack. The Syrian oppositionists called her “the revolutionary artist,” “the free artist,” and “the icon of the revolution.” Sheikh Sariya Al-Rifai mentioned that Mai sent him a letter before her death declaring her conversion to Islam.
