Their story

Nicola Cabibbo was an Italian physicist, known for his work on the weak nuclear interaction and the behavior of strange quarks. He was also president of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) of Italy, from 1983 to 1992, and since 1993, president of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. When he died, he was a professor at the Department of Physics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and directed studies and research on the QCD lattice and a vector project, within the scope of the APEnext project, capable of executing the calculations required by the theory.
