Olav Akselsen was a Norwegian politician from the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He was a member of parliament in the Storting from 1989 to 2009 and his country's petroleum and energy minister from March 2000 to October 2001. In 2009 he became director of the maritime authority Sjøfartsdirektatet.
