Their story
Paul Ruegger was a Swiss lawyer and diplomat. After several diplomatic posts, including in Italy during Mussolini's fascist dictatorship, he was President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from 1948 to 1955. In his later years he made a name for himself through his involvement in humanitarian law, including at the UN.
