Pavel Samouïlovitch Urysohn, born January 22, 1898 in Odessa and died August 17, 1924 in Batz-sur-Mer (France), is a Russian mathematician known for his work on dimensions and topology. Most of his work was published posthumously, thanks to the efforts of his friend Pavel Aleksandrov and Luitzen Egbertus Jan Brouwer.
