Pierre Paulus, born in Châtelet on March 16, 1881 and died in Saint-Gilles on August 17, 1959, was a Belgian expressionist painter, ceramist and engraver. He was the champion of the Pays Noir de Charleroi with its industrial landscapes and its hard-working population.
