Richard S. Barthelmess, New York, May 9, 1895 - Southampton, United States, August 17, 1963, is an American actor who began in silent cinema, before continuing his career in talkies. He was one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1929. He was also a producer.
