Their story
Robert Bernardis was an Austrian lieutenant colonel in the general staff of the German Wehrmacht. As a resistance fighter against National Socialism, he was involved in the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944 and the subsequent military coup attempt by calling Operation Walküre in the parts of Military District III outside the city of Berlin.
