Roger Y. Tsien, born February 1, 1952 in New York, and died August 24, 2016, is an American biochemist and biophysicist of Chinese origin. He is co-winner with Osamu Shimomura and Martin Chalfie of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2008 “for the discovery and development of green fluorescent protein”.
