Their story
Roland Giguère, born May 4, 1929 in Montreal and died in the same city on August 17, 2003, is a Quebec multidisciplinary artist. At the same time poet, painter, engraver, he diversified his practice while relating to the political and social history of Quebec. In addition to being an artist, he worked as an editor and printer for Erta Editions, a publishing house that he created himself, and which places a marked importance on poetry and artists' books. He received several literary awards, including the Governor General's Award in 1973, which he declined for political reasons.
