Their story
Sheik Umar Khan was a leading expert and doctor in the fight against the Ebola virus from Sierra Leone, who himself died of the disease. After it became known that he was infected with the Ebola virus, Sierra Leone's Health Minister, Miatta Kargbo, described him as a "national hero".
