Their story

Stepan Yosypovych Smal-Stotskyi is a Ukrainian linguist, literary critic, historian, teacher, political and social-cultural activist-populist. Professor (1885). Academician-founder of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Head of the philological section of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (1914), honorary member of the "Prosvita" society (1925); prominent socio-political, cultural, economic figure of Bukovyna. One of the founders of the Museum of the Liberation Struggle of Ukraine in Prague. Grandfather of Ukrainian literary critic in Canada Yury Lutskyi.
