Vicente Medina
August 17, 1937
Spanish writer, poet and philosopher (1866–1937)
Be the first to light a candle.
Their story
Vicente Medina Tomás was a Spanish poet and playwright. His main work, Aires Murcianos (1898), became a reference work of sentimental costumbrismo and social denunciation, praised by writers such as Azorín. In 1908 he settled in Argentina, where he continued writing and would reside until his death, except for a later period in which he returned to his native Murcia. Medina, which is considered one of the symbols of Murcia's regional identity, made use of the region's traditional language in its literature.
