Their story
Willi Otto Hoffmann was a German football official. He served as President of FC Bayern Munich from April 24, 1979 to October 9, 1985. During his tenure, FC Bayern became champions in 1980, 1981 and 1985, DFB Cup winners in 1982 and 1984 and reached the final of the European Cup in 1982. Because of his jovial nature and his love of partying, he was nicknamed “Champagne Willi” by the media.
